Ladies,
If you're waiting for your man to take the initiative and buy you some new bling - you're gonna wait a LONG time. This girl buys her own bling when the opprotunity presents itself.
A local jewerly store is closing its doors at one of the older malls in town and is moving out to that monstrosity of capitalism out west. Its disgusting and a severe blow to the stability of a very nice mall.... but thats not going to stop me from cashing in on a serious discount!
I've always wanted a 3 stone anniversary ring - from the moment I zipped myself out of my wedding dress. I keep hinting to Dana that it would be a really awesome anniversary present but to no avail. He doesnt take hints.... so I went in search of my own sparklies at the mother of all diamond sales.
I thought if this sale is as good as Sis said it was (she got diamond earrings the night before!) I was going to find my 3 stoner. My little hopes were dashed to the ground when the sales woman told me that they didnt have any three stoners available. BUT my little heart leaped with joy when she said 'lets look at what we can do for you'. She started looking at the diamond ring that I have and said that she had something to go with it that would be just as good as a three stoner. Dana gave me a beautiful solitare ring for our engagement - single heart-shaped diamond on a slender white-gold band - she said we could dress it up a bit with a jacket ring.
A jacket ring is something that goes around your existing ring to add a little somethin' somethin'. I looked at 3 rings - Ring #1 fit my ring so there were two diamonds on either side of my heart - very pretty. Ring #2 was 2 sprigs of diamonds that made the rings together look like a shooting star - it was a very stunning affect. Ring #3 was 4 sprigs of pairs of diamonds in a wispy baby's breath pattern - made the heart look like this awesome flower when the two rings went together. It was extremely elegant, understatedly beautiful, and totally awesome!
So I walked out of the store with Ring #3 - a ring that required no adjustment (it was perfectly my size), that Dana helped me pick out, and I got it for more than 50% off the original price. Now I just have to decide if I want to have to two rings connected together - dont really want to part with my newly acquired bling for 2 weeks so I dont know what I'll do for sure. All I know is that its really pretty and a good substitute for the three stoner :)
