As a daddy, i couldn't let the mommies have all the fun. So I volunteered as well to help at the Dance Recital. I helped keep track of 6 3rd grade boys, nephew included as well as the generate area with Junior/Senior boys running amuck. As well as the girls running around down in the depths of the civic center.
It was fun, I will do it again as well. We could watch most of the show on the monitors and get a kick out of talking to the boys, their interactions with each other, and the girls trying get their attentions, visa-versa, and everyone trying to find enough change for a snack out of the vendos.
Though, I had to leave early the next day after all the recital days to go to the conference in the magic kingdom. I miss the girls and their momma deeply down over here. I am watching a chinese subtitled movie on showtime as i type this to help remind me of my family, though i have no idea the name of it.
Daddy and momma are so proud of you guys for you dancing skill, and paying attention to know what you should be doing and doing it great!
luv yews alll!
The girls had their dance recital last night - they did great!! I was helper mom last night so I only got to see Shae on the monitor but I got to stand backstage and watch B to her routine!!
I'll get Dana to put some pictures on the site as soon as he gets back from the Magic Kingdom and CeeCee hands over her camera...so you'll have to hold out for about a week.
Shae was what I describe as BEAUTIFULLY day-glo in her deep purple outfit and awesomely white hair. Aubree was a pretty little cheetah complete with ears and a tail. Both of them knew their stuff and had other girls looking at them to try to figure out what they were suppose to do next. Yep... while all the other girls were screwing around in class, mine were paying attention!!
Being helper mom is hard work... especially when the group I'm not suppose to be taking care of is behaving worse than mine! I was supervising Shae's group which is kindergarteners... the group behind them had to be in at least 2nd or 3rd grade. One of them didnt eat before she came so she was in tears her stomach hurt so bad... I had to feed that one. The others were just obnoxious little snots that kept trying to get my group in trouble. The group in front of my girls that was probably in 1st or 2nd grade were whining like they were 3 because there wasnt enough slink-es to go around. For one, they needed more helper moms... two, they needed to BRING THEIR OWN ENTERTAINMENT!!!
The best group of all... the preschool girls CeeCee was watching. Why? Because she and the other Mommy was running roughshod over them and they were GOOD girls!!
I'm helping again next year - there's no way I'm sending my children into the bedlam without me!!! Dont get me wrong - it was FUN helping... just would have liked a few more mommies around to spread the joy.
