Wow! What a busy couple of weeks we've had... oh my goodness! Shae started kindergarten last Thursday... Dadee, Mama, and BiXiu took her to school the first day. I refrained from blubbering until I got out of her room :)
She's doing great! Her teacher says she's amazing and right on target... of course she is! Ethan worked his hiney off with her this summer and she is a shining example of all his hard work!! Auntie Sis said today that Shae is a little social butterfly at school... said 'bye!' to everyone and had kids from other classes saying bye back to her. She seems to be in a place where everyone knows her name (heh... cheers!) and people are being good to her!
Thats quite the relief to Mama let me tell you cuz I spent my childhood being a circus sideshow (twins... freaks amok!) and then not being liked because of blowing the bell curve. So while its important to me that the girls be their own people and be independent souls... I just want them to be accepted for who they are.
Not only is Shae in Kindergarten this year.... she, Talen, Mya, and BaiYu all started Chinese School Sunday! 2 hours every Sunday afternoon... we will be at Chinese School. We adults are going to stay in class and help because a. Mya and BaiYu have no idea what they're suppose to be doing and b. Shae cant see pink chalk on a green chalkboard from even 2 feet away. One of us is going to sit beside her and draw out the characters in black sharpie so she can follow along. B doesnt get to attend because she's only 3 yrs old... she'll get to start next year.
AND if the girls werent busy enough... dance class starts up again on Thursday!
B, M, and B are all in one dance class together... Shae is in the older girl class.
I will post more about B later... the girls want to glue something!
SHQ got ear tubes today... and it was way harder on my that it was on her. We had to be at the surgery center at 6:15am.... do you know how hard it is to wake that little child up at that ungodly hour?!?!? It was pouring rain and so dark that I was having trouble seeing but we got there in one piece!
I dont know why we had to be there at 6:15am... they didnt do the surgery until 7:45am. Its a little hard to entertain a child for that long who hasnt had anything to eat since yesterday but her new stuffed kitty helped with that.
She was brave and confident when she walked away from me holding the nurse's hand and clutching her kitty. She was tickled to death to see me when she came back! Me too because I was sooooo worried that she'd be upset! Its amazing that they do tubes so quick - just give them gas, make 2 slits, and pop the puppies in!
When they brought her back to me, we had a good 10 minute cuddle and then they kicked us out the door into the rain. Shae said she was hungry but didnt like the McDonalds... she ate grapes and drank juice instead. She's watching Maisy right now but I'm trying to talk her into a nap!
Back again to the fair. It was BiXiu's 2nd, and SHQ 1st.
We made it there a bit earlier this year, with cousins in tow as well. We took the standard vehicle to the Capital, and the shuttle bus to the fair. We managed to wraggle our spanky duel stroller, and man was it awesome to have that with us.
First stop as usual was the ponies and petting zoo. Surprizingly enough SHQ tromped right into the ring and jump right on the pony, and of course BiXiu had been on it last year, so she remember. You both just had ball, going around in circles. Yo both must have held on tight because they stopped the trot a few times for each of your horses to leavea package on the ground.
Then it was around the corner to the petting zoo, SHQ wanted nothing to do with tyring to feed any of them, B just tried to poke her hand right out with the pellets.
Then we hit the market, then the midway. You girls were very brave, and went on 3 different rides. B was little nervous, but SHQ was just a trooper!. Daddee had to go off with your cousin TQ to let him hit the mini rollercoasters, then it was off for more walking and food.
Once lunch was done we tromper a bit further and found our way back to bus stop. We made it home in time for a good nap, and just minutes before a huge down pour!
Dadee and Momma are just so proud of you girls, you did just great!
The girls have learned that the below list of things are what you ask when you really love someone. Because if you didnt really love a someone, you wouldnt ask these questions. You know why? BECAUSE MAMA ASKS THESE QUESTIONS EVERYDAY AND SHE REALLY REALLY LOVES US.... AND IF SHE DIDNT REALLY REALLY LOVE US... SHE WOULDNT ASK THESE QUESTIONS.
1. What did you have for (insert meal here)? Shae asks this question of everyone she loves because MAMA asks her everyday when MAMA comes home.
2. Did you poop today? A big question in our house since Mama has IBS-C and needs to make sure everyone's cleaned out. SHQ and B both ask this question.
3. Do you need a suppository? B's favorite question after she's asked me if I've pooped. Because you know... if you cant poop and you've eaten so much bran/fruit that it comes out of your ears... its time to pull out the 'up the bum' guns.
4. ARE you POOPING? and Do you need me to hold your hams? are always asked together by B and then she says 'now take a deep, cleansing breath... there's no cry... CeeCee no come over... no suppository!'. Me and B - the US Olympic IBS mother/daughter team!
5. You look like you need a nap... do you need to lay down? Both and its usually directed at Mama :)
6. Did you sleep good? Both... usually after Mama's had suggested nap :D
Great title hmm?!?!? Okay... quick run-down of ailments of late:
1. Ear Tubes - SHQ is going to have ear tubes put in NEXT Friday. Not THIS Friday... NEXT Friday.
2. Allergies - We think B may have allergies. She's on nose spray and Zyrtek right now.
3. Lotsa Poop - Talen - lotsa poop and strep. Mya - lotsa poop, puke, and strep. BaiYu - lotsa poop and strep. Shae HongQi - lotsa poop. Dadee and CeeCee have flu-like symptoms, no poop but have cleaned up lotsa poop. Mama, B, and Big G - not so much :)
We finally got to come home last Thursday or Friday. Yay! Its been a long week and Mama just doesnt remember what day so we'll go with one of the two mentioned :D
It was so nice to sleep in our own beds! We screamed 'WE'RE HOME!!! WE'RE HOME!!' until we were so hoarse we could barely squeek! We were all happy! Mama was happy... Dadee was happy...B was happy...SHQ was happy... doggies were happy... kitty was terribly happy! Everyone next door... happy to see us go!
And then Mama had to take Ethan back home and we were all sad... I wont do the list, just replace happy with sad above and you get the picture. :(
So we have A/C again and its really nice. Really REALLY NICE! And I'm hoping the new furnance will be just as really nice when it gets chilly outside again.
