Halloween - it be AWESOME!

We had an awesome Halloween - it was very wonderful this year! We went to Night Eyes at the Zoo on Friday night right when it opened - beautiful weather, lovely surroundings, candy for miles, and Jacinda at the end taking pictures!

We all dressed up this year - even the adults:

CeeCee - chinese pajamas
TQ - Ninja - what else!
MC - Tiger
BJ - chinese pajamas
BiXiu - ladybug
Mama - princess
Dadee - prince

I seriously dont know why anyone takes their kids door to door any more when we have great activities like Night Eyes as a safe alternative! I cant wait for Halloween next year - Shae will be home!

Shae's Birthday

Shae's birthday is October 25 - she's going to be 7 years old! So what have we done to celebrate her birthday without her???

1. Had a Mama friend of mine take a coat, hat, mittens to her when she met her son earlier in the month.

2. Sent a box to the orphanage she's at. Sent 4 coats, 4 pairs of mittens, 20 pair of little girl undies, socks, a nice big blanket, and a bag of 250 tootsie pop suckers for all to share!

3. Had a birthday party today with the clan next door! BBQ from Mustards and Baskin Robbins ice cream cake

4. A nice emotional meltdown last night - sorry Shae... Mama is really sad that we arent together on your birthday!

5. DTC'd last week!!! Come on Travel Approval!

Love you Shae Bunny... we cant wait for you to come home!

the best Monday EVER!

Monday's are usually not my best day of the week - its the end of the weekend, stuff has usually blown up over the weekend (I'm a computer programmer... 'ka boom' is my middle name!), and users are in a tizzy.

Today was completely different! At promptly 6:30am this morning, I'm sitting at my desk bawling my eyes out because good thing #1 happened! A fellow Yuanchun family is in China right now picking up there son and mama Carol wrote the following to me:

*****************************
Laurie,
Gao Hong Qi seems very well loved. She really has quite a
personality and is so beautiful, more so than her pictures if that's
possible. The coat will be way too big for her but Ms. Wong really
liked it and would love to have more for girls 6-9years. We
purchased 6 new coats at the market today and will bring them on
Friday when we pick up the passports. She did receive the other
packages also. She has a hard time outside in the light but indoors
she functions very well.
*******************************

My baby! SHE SAW MY BABY IN PERSON!!! I dont care if she's gonna be seven on Oct 25, she is my BABY! My morning is only 30 minutes old and my day is complete!

Good thing #2 - at 8:00am, it dawns on my as I'm trying to fix my raccoon eyes for the millionth time that Carol said she had PICTURES posted on her yahoo group. Hmmmm... pictures... I go out to take a look and who should I see but MY BABY! There she is! Standing in a group of kids hamming it up for the camera - her widdle white head poking up out of a sea of black/brown with the biggest smile on her face! I am in HEAVEN!!

Good thing #3 - I come back from lunch and I've got a message from our dossier prep Lady. OH NO I think... whats wrong?!?!? She's a little surprised is all... THAT OUR DOSSIER IS BACK FROM THE CHINESE CONSULATE IN CHICAGO IN RECORD TIME!!!!! If she had been standing in my office telling me this in person, she would have been smothered in kisses and hugs! She would have been completely covered in bruises and slobber!

Good thing #4 - Our dossier will be in my possession for a brief time tomorrow and then it will be on its way to Stefani and Company! Dare I dream that it will be sent off this Friday without frantically chasing down a stray document? Could the rest of the week be just as good as TODAY?!?!?!??!?!

Laurie - happiest Mama today!

dd Shae HongQi (aka Shae #2/Gao Hong Qi/Amanda List 11/Mama's Little Magic!) - sn Albinism!

dossier is in final stages

Forgive my french girls, but what the hell does 'your dossier is in the final stages' mean? Does that mean that its at the Chinese Consulate in Chicago? Its not gone yet? Its back? What the hell does that mean?

I'll tell you what that means - it means that Mama is about to pop a vessel she's so not happy about how long its taken to get one itty bitty dossier created!

Mama's going to cry... Shae's birthday is Oct 25 and our dossier still isnt ready!

God... I know you have other things on your mind... but could you cut us some slack so we can get our little one home sooner than later?????
