BABY has the Flu!!

Our poor baby gots the flu.

We just arrived in winter park.. Around 9000+ feet, different that Iowas 1000 feet altitude. And B started acting really tired, such, so after daddee got home from a short day of skiing we made some calls and got to a clinic. Long story short(long later), She's got the flu, and we had to get her out of the high altitude to help her manage. So Momma and B are in Denver and Daddee is all alone.

He misses his girls so much!! He very much is looking forward to rejoining them soon.

Booop! *giggles* Booop

Little BiXiu. After a week or more of a nice juicy cough you are on the mend.
The story as I remember it is the cough jumping from school to TQ - to the other 2 girls, then to B, and finally to momma. TQ is still working on it ever after his meds. The girls got over it, and B decided she wanted to take it one step further.

She tried to catch pneumonia. Daddee would also like to take this small opportunity for not taking you to the Dr earlier than you got to. The way it worked out, you and TQ went there with your Auntie CC.

Long story short, after a tramatic experience getting a chest x-ray that you definately didn't want any part of, you came home with some meds as well as a nebulizer. Momma figured out a great schedule, and so all this week every couple of hours we take a vial drop it in the unit and turn on the machine.

Mommy or Dadee stand in front of you in your crib and keep the tube in front your mouth. You just stand there and talk to us, ever once in a while you will grab the tube and push her nose into it. She then expects you to say it or she will say 'Boop!'. Otherwise you just giggle when you get a treatment. You are just fascinated with it. Even in the middle of the night you barely even wake up when you get out. Then when we are finished and the machine is shut off, you will exclaim 'All-Done!!'.

You are most easy going child i have ever seen :) Just like your parents you take things in stride and just have fun..

why do little children hate their nails trimmed?

Okay Mamas of the World - why do little children hate to have their nails trimmed? BiXiu screams bloody murder every single time we get the scissors out. It gives me a tummy ache to have to hold her down... she gets so upset that we have to just snip as quick as we possibly can, but its not fast enough.

Tonight she got so upset that I held her and just let her cry it out. Dadee had stopped with the scissors 5 minutes ago and she's still howling... partly because of being mad about the nail trim and partly because I wasnt going to let go until she calmed down.

We're gonna have to start trimming during nap time... I just cant watch her get that upset anymore... it breaks my heart :(

there is nothing as good as pretty piggies in your hair!

Mama has been working on Aubree's hair into pretty piggies anytime I'm home in the morning. B's got the most loveliest hair that I've ever seen... its black with chocolate highlights and it shines like the dickens! So silky... nice and straight... its everything Mama wishes her hair would have been!

Aubree's got just enough hair for 2 pretty piggies right on top of her head... I tried putting them more to right above her ears but her hair just isnt long enought yet. I must say though, when they are at their perky piggy best... they are just awesome!

Love you mufkin and your pretty piggies too! Someday soon you will have enough hair so we can try a pretty pony too! :* [ ]

motherly advice snippet #211

Because I love you and have to write these things down as I think of them... I give you Motherly Advice Snippet #211:

Just because you were born in the Year of the Sheep doesnt mean you have to be a sheep and follow the rest of the herd off the cliff like lemmins. I.E. you need to be you're own person and never matter what others say or do.

And thats a tip from your loving Mama for when you are a teenager :* [ ]

Happy New Year!

Thus it is!

Bixiu, girls, and the rest of the crew took advantage of the local Chinese Association today and went to their New Years celebration.

It was at the Drake University campus, and they did it up pretty well.

They had demostrations of Lion Dance, swords, Staffs, etc.. As well as faint painting, teas, and some traditional chinese food. Dadee got recipes to try, everyone had a great time at watching the people.

You got to see a few more little girls and boys that look more like you, and we hope to continue to do these with you and other events each year as you grow.

BiXiu grows

Aubree BiXiu is a growin' - just in the last week she's gotten a big girl pair of jeans (size 4T!), weights 28 lbs, has gotten a bunch of really nice hair bobs, decided that Little Elmo is the pal she wants to accompany her on adventures, says 'all done! down!' at the dinner table, and a brand spankin new pair of tennie shoes!

Not just any shoes - white, velcro, Piglet, light up shoes - size 7! Three red lights on each shoe light up as she stomps around... she's quite pleased with herself and has been running around in the living room where its dark.

In just a few days, she's gonna be 22 months old!! Nearly 2 whole years old! I cant believe my baby is getting so big!
