mad as a wet hen

Just as I'm saying 'Aubree B do not dump over the dog water while I'm in the closet', it must have come out sounding like 'go ahead and dump it over!' which you did and then you promptly smacked the floor with your forehead as you slipped in the water.

Mad as a wet hen and twice as soggy - do I think you learned a lesson... nope, you did the same thing on Friday :D

Pictures..err SlideShow!

Ok Aubree after about 3 months that we have had you home, I finally managed to get your pictures compiled into a full dvd. The software I have only allows 99 pictures in a slideshow so I had to split them up into 6 sections but I got them burned. The whole dvd takes up about 4.6 gig with the music and original pictures included as well as take a good hour to watch.

I had to let our desktop computer churn for about 6 hours to make the ISO, but know I can burn a copy in about 20 minutes. I think I couple have spruced it up a little bit, but otherwise it turned out really good.

It so great to watch it with your cousins, grandma, as well as us and point things we did and all the pictures we took of you. I don't know if you remembered or recognized the places you had been, but you definately recognized us and you in the pictures.

We love you so much Aubree and hope to take you back to China someday so revisit some of the places we had been when you can enjoy them and see how and were we got you!!

books, books, and more books!

Aubree B is quite the little bookwormy! I think I have read every single book she has this morning since we got up and I bet there will be more book reading at Grandma's before she goes down for her nap this afternoon.

The favorite book right now is ANY book with dog dogs or kitty cats in them. Those are followed up with books with balloons as a close second :)

I have never seen anything so cute as Aubree handing me a book and then backing up like a mack truck until she's safely sitting on my lap. Its the sweetest thing I've ever seen :)

Both Dada and I have a great love of books so we hope this continues for a good long time!

the great outdoors

You are a sandbox kinda girl. You like to dig dig dig in the sand and throw it all over yourself until you are grubby Aubree hear you WAAAAAAAAAAA :) I havent seen you put any of it in your mouth but I caught you Friday sucking on an acorn top!

You like to swing in your blue swing, but not for very long because you get this curious greenish tinge to your little face!

You dont like to walk in the grass very much - I dont know if its because it trips you up or because you just dont like the way it feels.

You like to ride in your stroller and sway back and forth or stand up and howl with glee. You dont like to wear your hat when riding in the stroller because it always ends up squirked over your eyes and you dont like it when Mama fixes it back.

I think your favorite outdoor activity right now is sitting on the porch swing with Mama and Dada after the walk. I think you could sit out there for hours with us and just be happy.

adventures in food...

Meal time is a very interesting time at our house. We never know when the 'spit' phase of the meal is going to start :) Sometimes it starts right away - like if DaDa has fixed turkey or fish. Poke it in - lips curl back and the tongue pushes the food back out - it reminds me very much of how the bowling alley lanes work... except this is in reverse and the food comes towards me, not away from me.

Oatmeal doesnt usually cause evacuations - it goes in and stays in. Quesadillas from the mall are also a good bet as are green beans. Other than that - its up to the whim of the Empress Aubree :)

Aubree BiXiu is soooo BIG!

Kid - you crack me up! If its not the food coming back out of your little rolled lips, its the liberal sprinkling of the moo juice over everything.

You have started to remember and do all the hand gestures for itsy bitsy spider - its just a hoot! Before I can even sing the next part, you're whipping through up the spout, washed him out, and here comes the sun. You wont do them however, unless you're sure I'm going to do them too :)

Big into books now and wont sit down and play with toys at night. You run all over the house with your little arms swinging and your tushy swaying - at 16 months old you can climb ALL THE WAY UPSTAIRS!

I love you BiXiu - thank you for coming into our lives :* [ ]
